Eight classic fables retold and newly illustrated.
Inspired by Rembrandt and such great 'Golden Age' illustrators as N.C. Wyeth and Arthur Rackham, Scott Gustafson revels in deploying his meticulous 'old master' command of color, composition, settings, costume, and character to retell and re-imagine the great traditional tales.
Gustafson spent two years on Storybook Fables creating forty-eight gorgeous full-color paintings to illustrate his own versions of eight beloved fables, among them Beauty and the Beast, The Crow and the Pitcher, The Emperor's New Clothes, and The Mice in Council.
